3. Pete Alonso

Pete Alonso emerged on the scene just last season and has already fortified himself as one of the top sluggers in baseball. He already left his mark on history as he hit 53 home runs in just his rookie season, surpassing Aaron Judge's rookie record. While Alonso is nothing special on defense, his raw power alone is enough to claim the three spot on this list.

2. Matt Olson

Did I rank Olson over Alonso based on bias, maybe, but I have my reasoning. Alonso put up better numbers than Olson last season, however, Olson is undoubtedly better on defense. While Olson may not hit 50 home runs he can still easily amass 35-40 all while providing gold glove defense. The rarity of having a first baseman that has an elite glove as well as an elite bat does not happen often in the MLB, that's why Olson takes the number 2 spot.

1. Freddie Freeman

While Freeman is not better than Olson defensively and does not outpower Alonso, he has the perfect balance out of a 1st baseman. He is an above-average fielder that can hit for both contact and power. He is also consistent and has been putting all-star numbers for several years now, while Olson and Alonso have not yet had the opportunity to prove they can be consistent.
