Should the Rockies Trade Nolan Arenado?

The Colorado Rockies spent some big bucks in order to ink up their star third baseman Nolan Arenado when they gave him an eight-year $260 million contract. However, while they have one of the best players in all of baseball, they rank among the leagues worst, wasting the talent they do have. While the Rockies don't seem to be doing much with Arenado anytime soon, they should see if they can trade the gold glover in exchange for some pieces that can help their team be successful in the future.

The Colorado Rockies struggle mightly in one aspect year-in and year-out, and that is their starting pitching. They do not have the best prospects in their system and can never luck out in free agency as no pitcher in the entire league actually wants to be pitching at the hitter-friendly Coors Field. While the Rockies have some good bats in Trevor Story and Charlie Blackmon, it wouldn't hurt to trade their star for a long haul of arms for the rubber.

Also, after Jeff Bridich was all ears on offers for his third baseman, Arenado felt disrespected. He questioned the loyalty of this GM. While there is now tension between the Rockies and Arenado, trading him may be the best solution. If it was just one season things would be different because then they would just be done with once the season is over but if Arenado drama continues to spike, big problems may present themselves in Colorado.
